Unpublished route of the Via Francigena which will start from Montaione and through a beautiful route will lead us to the Pieve di Coiano.

From here there will be a meeting with the groups that come from San Miniato and Castelfiorentino, and then continue together, for those who want, to Castelnuovo d'Elsa and attend the party.

The route we propose is completely new, in part a bit wild, which will allow you to discover a new unofficial route that pilgrims probably once traveled to reach the Francigena. Along the way we will be cheered by characters from another time ... .. intrigued?

Difficulty:

for hikers E (route in line; length about 11.50 km; positive height difference about 280 meters; negative height difference about 480 meters).

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, car sharing is NOT provided and is not recommended between participants who do not cohabit with the activity.
A shuttle service is available between Castelnuovo d'Elsa and Castelfiorentino.

Excursion with environmental hiking guide authorized pursuant to LR 86/2016 and subsequent amendments.
The Guides are in possession of the RCT insurance required by law. Participants in the excursions are NOT covered by personal accident insurance.

Trekking shoes or shoes with sculpted sole, backpack, water at least 1 liter, hat, any rain gear (waterproof jacket, backpack cover).

Recommended equipment:
Trekking poles, sunscreen and camera.
